Do these animals think they're people?
People may not want animals inside shopping malls, lounging in pools, pawing through their fridges for snacks or taking a ride on a hang glider, but these are animals who are over human rules. They're doin' it anyway.
These pets, pests and downright beasts have been spotted in places where they shouldn't be -- for instance, going down a water slide or driving a tractor. Keep clicking to see more photos of animals where animals do not belong.
Taking a relaxing soak
In July 2018, Mark Hough of Altadena, California, intended to enjoy a margarita in his hot tub. He retreated back inside his home when he saw a bear climbing over the fence.
Once safely inside his house, he looked out the window and saw the bear enjoying his drink in the hot tub. The bear eventually left on its own, Hough said.
Put a bird on it
In February 2018, a scarlet ibis decided to make its news debut, landing on the head of San Diego anchor Nichelle Medina.
The zoo worker who had brought the creature in for a special segment said the bird simply couldn’t wait to meet the anchors.
Picture perfect
A Florida elementary school student's service dog was allowed to have her very own yearbook picture in 2018.
The dog, Linda, assists her owner, Rachel Watton. Watton has spina bifida and gets around with the help of a wheelchair.
Oh, deer!
This poor deer wandered into a New Jersey home in June 2018, and got trapped in the stairwell.
Police officers, firefighters and animal control officers were able to free the deer, and it eventually fled back into the woods.
That's dry-clean only
In November 2017, a Brazilian woman found a seven-foot-long boa constrictor in her washing machine after her daughter reported that the machine had been making strange noises.
The giant snake was removed by the woman’s neighbor and safely released back into the wild.
Doggone good farmer
Dogs might be man's best friend, but could they be man’s best employee?
A golden retriever in Northern Ireland likes to mow the lawn and plow fields with his owner.
Trying not to miss my train
In June 2018, a deer ran loose inside a train station. Reportedly, the deer seemed nonchalant as it pranced across train tracks and sauntered around the platform of the Crystal City Metro station in Arlington, Virginia.
It caught commuters by surprise before running off unharmed.
Nuts for peanut M&Ms
Squirrels typically don't enter stores to get a bag of candy, but Brianna Bradshaw and her friend witnessed one squirrel with a major sweet tooth in June 2018.
“The squirrel just ran in and hopped up on their candy display and grabbed the bag of peanut M&Ms and just took off," Bradshaw told Inside Edition Digital.
Look both ways before you cross the street
In 2018, a deer was spotted helping her fawn cross the road in Iowa.
A FedEx delivery man who spotted the two deer told Inside Edition Digital, “Beautiful day out, driving down the road, and I see this mother deer come walking out from between houses and instantly that caught my attention. Of course, I slowed down, and I noticed she didn’t continue on her way, stopped, and looked behind her.”
Free Solo: Raccoon
In June 2018, a brave raccoon scaled a 25-story skyscraper in Minnesota, becoming an instant viral sensation.
State wildlife rescuers later released the death-defying mammal into the wild.
Poultry prisoner
In June 2018, a chicken ran loose through the streets of Portland only to be picked up by a police officer.
"The chicken kept going into the street, which was very concerning. Cars were stopping, kind of going [around], trying to avoid the chicken," the officer said. Authorities contacted the owner, and the chicken was eventually able to go home.
Is this freshman orientation?
In May 2018, a 9-foot-long alligator was spotted on campus at Alcorn State University in Natchez, Mississippi.
Although the animal may have just wanted to brush up on his studies, he was captured and later released back into the wild.
Got any snacks?
In June 2018, a hungry bear broke into a couple's home in South Lake Tahoe, California. The 7-foot-tall animal grabbed a bag of M&M's, spilling the candy all over the counter.
The break-in was caught on a home security camera. The couple said it was the second time a bear had broken into their home.
Honk if you like cats
In May 2018, a family captured video of a cat clinging to the roof of a van blasting down the Nebraska highway.
The Rankin family, who recorded the event, were able to flag the driver down and alert them to the feline stowaway.
Australian hitchhiker
Kangaroos may be known for bouncing around, but hanging out on a South Carolina freeway is certainly new.
The animal was spotted in May 2018 and later returned back to the farm from where it had escaped.

In April 2018, a goose attacked a Michigan high school student golfer who was too close to her nest.
It was reported that the golf course had erected a sign warning there was a nest on the fairway. It took four golf carts and four golf coaches to overtake the goose.
Parking lot play time
In April 2018, a giraffe named Thabisa escaped from Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo in Indiana and ran through a parking lot.
After chasing the giraffe for two hours, Thabisa reportedly wandered back home on her own.

A squirrel leapt at the chance to meet the Philadelphia Phillies in 2015.
The bushy-tailed fan climbed up the netting behind home plate and fell into the team's dugout.
Anyone seen my room key?
In April 2018, a young alligator was spotted taking a stroll outside of a Quality Inn in Sebring, Florida.
The small reptile was reportedly captured by a licensed trapper.
Don't forget to share the road
In March 2018, a sled dog team was spotted racing down the highway in Fairbanks, Alaska, without a driver.
The owner said her children were giving a friend a ride in the sled, while she road ahead on a snow moped. The dogs skidded on ice and the sled tipped sideways, dumping the children. When the sled righted itself, the dogs kept running.
The dogs were later returned to their owner.
Free lunch
In May 2018, a hungry bear broke in to a home near Lake Tahoe, California.
Deputies from the Placer County Sheriff's Office were able to chase the uninvited guest out of the house after he snacked on some fruit and bread.
Backseat driver
A group of tourists on safari at Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park got the scare of their lives when a curious cheetah decided to explore their vehicle.
"I was scared to death, but I’ve never felt more alive," said Britton Hayes, a member of the safari group.
Maybe I can get a better signal up here?
In March 2018, an Arizona cat was stuck on a telephone pole for at least 24 hours.
A neighbor eventually brought a ladder to the telephone pole and brought the feline safely to the ground.
Taking a dip
On Easter of 2018, an 11-foot-long alligator was caught swimming in a residential Florida pool.
Officials were reportedly able to get the beast out of the water.
Different teams
This little rodent hitched a ride on an Alameda County sheriff's cruiser in February 2018.
The officer was headed to a security assignment at a Golden State Warriors game, when the little mouse popped up on his windshield wiper. "Further investigation revealed the suspect was likely a San Antonio Spurs fan trying to intimidate us," the sheriff's office wrote on social media.
Just trying to get to a sale
An aggressive rat terrorized mall shoppers on an escalator in the Philippines in February 2018.
The video of the lunging rat quickly went viral.
Teenage mutant ninja raccoon
A poor raccoon got stuck in a Chicago sewer grate in November 2017.
“It seems this little guy has been eating a little too well and got caught in the sewer grate,” local police said in a Facebook post. The chubby animal was safely rescued.
Elephant wanderlust
Sometimes you just have to get away. An elephant in China nonchalantly stepped over a border checkpoint and into the country Laos in January 2018.
He wandered around for a bit before returning home on his own.
Downward dog
A yellow lab named Milo decided it was his turn to go down the water slide.
By the look on his face, he appears to have regretted the decision.
Surf and turf
A California pig named Pickles loves to surf and hang on the beach.
Pickles learned to surf in 2017, and also enjoys hiking and sunbathing.
Knock first!
These opossums, looking for warmth, made their home inside someone's car.
An exterminator advises that drivers should use scents made of mint or lavender to keep pests away from their car. "It is obnoxious to their nostrils," he told Inside Edition. He advises spraying the aromas lightly on the engine, inside the car and in the wheel well.
Target's biggest fan
California corgi Zira has a bullseye around one of her eyes, so it only makes sense that she gets excited whenever she goes to Target.
“She loves adventures and shopping,” her owner Kasey Donovan of Monterey, California, told Inside Edition Digital. “She wants to meet all the shoppers and employees wherever she’s at. We love that she’s so friendly.”
An unlikely duo
A U.K. cat named Louis and a horse named Comet are best friends.
Comet's trainer said they often nuzzle together. "I think horses like cats because they're so playful but Comet really likes Louis. It's nice for them to be able to take in the scenery together and Louis is really confident up there. When he has had enough he'll just jump off,” she said.
Definitely not a cat bed
In December 2017, a Texas cat was stuck in a fireplace, and gave her owner quite the scare.
The cat was eventually rescued.
Chicken run
Turns out, the chicken really did need to cross the road.
In January 2018, about two dozen California chickens fell off the back of a truck and were helped across a busy road by police. Unfortunately, two did not survive.
Cat's eye view
In 2015, this fearless feline went for a ride on the wing of a hang glider. The uninvited guest flew thousands of feet above French Guiana before it was noticed.
Once spotted, the pilot was able to land the hang glider and all of its passengers safely to the ground.
Downward goat
At a New York City yoga studio, clients can attend "goat yoga." During the practice, young goats hop on to the backs of yogis to deepen stretches.
Who said yoga has to be relaxing?
Fowl play
A hawk ended up stuck in the grill of a California car for more than 30 miles in 2017.
The hawk was taken to a local rehab center and treated for a broken leg.
Greetings from CA!
In November 2017, a California man found an exotic crocodile monitor lizard lounging in his backyard.
Although it might seem fairly casual, these reptiles are native to the New Guinea rainforests, so it was quite the unlikely place to spot the creature.
Alligator parking
In November 2017, a Florida family found an 8-foot-long alligator in their garage.
Florida Fish and Wildlife removed the animal from the Naples home.
Punch-drunk opossum
In 2017, a drunken opossum had to go through detox after breaking into a Florida liquor store and downing a bottle of alcohol.
It was safely released back into the wild, likely with a hangover.
Is this the way to the P.E. yard?
In 2017, a deer was seen running around the halls of a Mississippi middle school.
Thankfully, no students were injured, and the frightened deer exited the school and ran back into the woods.
A wild ride
A Virginia bobcat was forced to go on an unwanted, 50-mile ride in 2017 after getting stuck in the grill of a car.
The unsuspecting motorist didn't notice the big cat until she'd parked. The animal later made a full recovery at a local wildlife center.
They heard nacho fries were back
In November 2017, three bears were seen outside of a California Taco Bell restaurant.
It’s not clear what they ordered, but they eventually wandered off.
Will brake for elephants
In November 2017, three African elephants were seen grazing on the side of a highway in Tennessee.
The exotic animals had been evacuated from a truck they were riding following a fire. The animals and truck driver were uninjured.
Testing those 9 lives
In November 2017, a California house cat escaped her home and managed to get stuck on a 100-foot cliff.
In an intense rescue mission, the feline was saved and returned home.

A Florida family found an alligator on their porch in November 2017.
The alligator lounged outside their door before wandering off.

In March 2018, a small cat was found stuck between two automatic doors at a hotel in England.
The animal was rescued and immediately taken to the vet.

In May 2018, a husky was rescued from a roof in Wells, Maine.
The fire department arrived and helped the dog through a window. Maybe he was just waiting to howl at the moon?
